CAPE TOWN STEVENSON GALLERY 4 June - 18 July 2015 .
Thierry Oussou's painting and drawing installation, Trace Series, creates a space for the ritual contemplation of other realms, and refers to the related sense of disconnect created by modernization in Benin.
Thierry Oussou was born in Allada, Benin, 1988, where he created the art studio, Yè and continues to give workshops on arts and visual culture in schools and cultural institutions across Benin. His was in residencies at Rijksakademie, Amsterdam (2015), Dokoutin, Brussels (2014) and exhibited at the Dakar Biennale, DAK'ART 2014. In 2013 he took part in the Annual Youth Workshop Program, World Images in Motion, in Denmark.
